The 3rd Quarter of 2008 saw fewer real estate transactions overall than the Year-to-Date of last year, with 14.15% less homes being sold. Home prices, however, remained very stable and a bit higher compared to last year's levels. The median price for single family homes increase 0.18% to $203,980 from $203,612.
Sales in Sunnyvale increased by more than 42% as the median prices of Sunnyvale rose more than 19%. On the declining side, Royce City sales plunged downwards 65%, but their median price increased by more than 20%. There are 5 areas that sold more homes in the Year-To-Date of 2008 compared to 2007. In addition, there were 14 areas that show some appreciation during this time.

Even in today's slow economy, the Dallas Real Estate Market has done suprisingly well. Considering some markets in the USA have seen up to a 40% drop in property value over the past year, the Dallas real estate market has seen very little effect in comparison. Buyers continue to search for Dallas homes for sale even in today's slow economy. The internet make it possible for buyers to do a Dallas MLS search just as easily as real estate agents in Dallas could do. Yes it is still a buyer's market. But, sellers, have no fear. If you are in the Dallas real estate market, you are doing just fine.
